From Phuket we made the trip out to Wat Suwan Kahu Temple (Monkey Cave Temple) Phang Nga Bay / Koh Phing Kan & Koh Panyi.

Wat Suwan Kahu Temple is located inside a cave called Tam Yai in a limestone mountain, Tam Yai is one of the biggest. The hihglight of the trip here is the reclining buddha symbolising the passing into Nirvana.

The monkeys surrounding the temple are pretty cheeky but so beautiful too! Definately take care of your things when you are there!

Phang Nga Bay / Koh Phing Kan is where parts of James Bond ‘Man with the Golden Gun’ was filmed.

The day tour cost around $40 AUD – 1100 bhat which included pick up and drop off and also a meal at a floating fishing village, Koh Panyi.

It was incredible to visit Koh Panyi – When we live in such a western civilisation, it’s awesome to see villages like this where the people still have a community and are in touch with one another and well, have such a different lifestyle to what we are use to. They have the best views to wake up to – the insane breathtaking views of the mountains in the backdrop.

The history of the village goes back more than 200 years when fishermen from Indonesia were looking for a new place to settle. They found Koh Panyi, which is also called Koh Panyee, which seemed to be the perfect place at the time for them.

The surrounding seas around the island were rich with fish, and the sheltered bay provided a safe place to build a village on stilts with wooden huts over the shallow waters. Although there are still fishermen right here on Koh Panyi , tourism has become an important source of income for local people.

There are several seafood restaurants and souvenir shops on the Island. After having lunch on Koh Panyee, you will depart for James Bond Island.

It was a full day and so it was worth the amount I’d paid. I have slowly started to detest tours. I just find them to be super rushed – however I understand that sometimes its unavoidable. I must say I was impressed with the guys I went with as I didn’t feel rushed at all on this one.

It was a fun day & it puts into perspective how much natural beauty there is in this world.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the moment and daily things that may catch you out and make you feel grim, but remember, the world is your oyster with so many opportunities and so many amazing experiences and so much beauty out there, so get out there and live in the moment and embrace life.

Here’s a photo diary from the trips to these amazing locations – I hope it inspires you to visit ? ?
