We have been lucky enough to grow up in the UK but have the perks of having Indian parents who travelled with us back to India to visit India frequently through the years.
India is certainly one of those places where you will either love it or hate it.
Growing up, we use to get lugged around having to go to families houses on our visits etc which, sort of takes the fun out of it ?
At the same time, I think you have to be of certain age to appreciate the beauty of this country!
Most of the time, we went to Gujarat, Porbandar is our home village in Gujarat. It may ring a bell… Home of the legend Gandhi. And so it was like a second home to us in time.
I use to not be a fan in all honesty, but in recent years I’ve been able to really fall in love with the country and would love to backpack around the different regions. It’s definitely something I want to do sooner rather than later.
India is such a big place, the food, the culture, the people change in each region, how amazing is it to have that contrast in the one country?!
On my most recent trip with family, we headed back to Gujarat but then took some time out and spent a few days around Rajasthan after Porbandar.
Some of the places we visited included
- Taj Mahal
- Jaigarh Fort
- Delhi Gate
- Camel Ride
- Mount Abu
- The Golden Temple
How To Get There
Most major airline companies fly to India – Fly into New Delhi if you plan to do Rajasthan region as it’s easily accessible from there. You can either use public transit or hire a bike or lock in a taxi for your time there. I would recommend doing some research and planning your trip depending on how long you have, and what you want to see and your budget.
Ok that’s more than enough chit chat, here are 60 photos to inspire you to visit India – Rajasthan!
